Material exploration was a dominant theme of the 4th annual design collectors show

Not everything at the 2016 edition of the Collective Design Fair in New York City was what it appeared to be. Designers presented a range of work that used materials in particularly creative ways. Here's a look at the projects that begged an answer to the question ‘What's it made of?'

Brooklyn based designers The Principals were commissioned to create the entry installation called Glacial Drift. The hybrid sculpture/seating piece was made solely from inexpensive corrugated plastic sheets. The greenery represents actual glaciers picked up and re-deposited on their journey across the land.
