Social goliath is finding ways to prioritize innovation and add content to the platform

Facebook is partnering with DigitasLBi to produce a live-streamed morning show called Rise and Shine, which is set to appear three to five times a day on subscribers’ newsfeeds and on the page of DigitasLBi’s sponsoring brands.

Described as “a deconstructed morning talk show built-for-feed, audience-first branded programming,” the show will highlight a variety of topics from cooking recipes and local weather to workout tips and other talk show-like themes. Of course, given that users will have to actively subscribe on the show’s page before it creeps up in their feeds, the content won’t be forced down the throats of the unwilling. As such, Facebook is effectively branching out toward the content creation space, no longer simply hosting items uploaded by others but joining in on the party as well.
