How Sony Is Using Media To Transform The Home
The new Life Space UX product line aims to simplify and beautify home environments
Life Space UX is Sony’s new electronics line aimed at the home. The electronics maker chose NYCxDesign 2016 as a venue to launch the collection, and it will be sold at the MoMA Design Store in the U.S.
The three initial products in the line are intended to deemphasize the presence of physical electronics in interior design. Each of the products focus on a flexible delivery of visual or audio content.LED Bulb Speaker
The bulb integrates illumination and sound delivery in a very small package that screws into a traditional light socket. The lights can be controlled via a remote or smartphone app and users can change the color of the light or dim it. Music can be played through a bluetooth connection via the bulb’s internal speaker, and multiple bulbs can be controlled at the same time. What makes Sony’s Bulb Speaker most appealing is the small size with a light and sound combination.
