Over the past decade or so, DIY travel websites have given vacationers the opportunity to take travel into their hands, making travel agents increasingly unnecessary. The downside of those sites is the amount of choices they provide; while useful for some, for an unseasoned traveler picking from so many options of flights, hotels and attractions can be daunting. Kayak co-founder Paul English’s newest project, a startup called Lola (shorthand for longitude and latitude), is aiming to give people access to premium, on-demand personal travel service through an app.
