Nearly 60 designers partnered with plants to create original micro-habitats

For the 2016 edition of their annual group exhibition, the American Design Club (AmDC) put out a call to designers to explore the idea of ‘Growth.' The concept for the show came from a quote by poet William Butler Yeats:

Happiness is neither virtue nor pleasure nor this thing nor that, but simply growth. We are happy when we are growing.

The show was staged during NYCxDesign at the inaugural Design Pavilion NYC in Astor Place. AmDC founder Kiel Mead told PSFK that the idea for the show was decided long before the opportunity to stage it at the Design Pavilion was offered. Mead said when the request was presented for the outdoor event, he immediately thought of hosting the exhibition inside a greenhouse.
