India's first solar panel-powered train moves the country on a large scale

Indian Railways is set to start its trial run of its first solar panel-powered train by the end of May. This is one step closer to India’s goal of using purely solar-powered trains in the near future.

The Indian train system is the fourth largest in the world and Indians heavily rely on this public transport system to get them to and from any place. Due to the large population, more and more trains are being utilized to keep come with the demand, which also means more electricity. The Indian Railways will begin a passenger run trial route in Jodhpur, Rajasthan to finalize how this train will operate. Solar panels installed will gather the energy that will then be used for lights and fans on train carriages.
