Transparent Seas is a public art piece exploring the vast oceans of our planet

Public art can change the entire character of a neighborhood. It creates a new aesthetic character on a wall but also encourages residents, and visitors, to see the space in a new light.

Digital agency Grow has worked with Virginia-based illustrator Jason Levesque to create an art piece that requires the public’s attention to unveil all its true colors.

“Transparent Seas” is a 40-foot mural that changes as viewers approach it. Lights shift as the viewer changes their position in relation to the mural. As the lights move, different visuals start to appear.
