This Pocket-Sized Device Can Diagnose Cancer In 20 Minutes
Downsizing the laboratory into a handheld device
Though advances in disease diagnostics now offer highly accurate screening for clinicians and patients, results generally require a sizeable laboratory and a few weeks of waiting. As with any other democratized technology, that’s all set to change with the introduction of Q-Poc, a ‘handheld lab’ which can analyze everything from cancer to infectious diseases in 20 minutes or less. Developed by British-based tech firm QuantuMDx, the smartphone-sized scanning device is currently under development and hopes to revolutionize the medical industry by 2018.
