Extensive list of well-lit offices with inspiring artwork on the walls, endless networking opportunities and hectolitres of single-origin coffee became a standard for coworking chains. In order to revamp its cutting edge, Bar Works, a NY-based co-working chain with venues opening in Manhattan, San Francisco and London, decided to reimagine its “work space with vibe” motto by transforming old telephone boxes into Pod Works.

Every pod will be equipped with a printer, scanner, wireless mouse, 25-inch screen, power bank of plugs and a hot drink machine. For £19.99 a month, entrepreneurs will gain access to any work station at any time of day or night.

“Entrepreneurs and others constantly on the move need a convenient, affordable and private place to work. Why should they sit in Starbucks or any other coffee bar when using one of our Pods will allow them to truly focus on their job before an important meeting or presentation at less than the price of two cups of coffee a week,” said Bar Works CEO, Jonathan Black.

The red refurbished telephone boxes will soon populate the streets of London, Leeds and Edinburgh with other major UK cities to follow.
