Austin-based startup created an app that makes it easier for fans to support local artists

Austin-based startup TipCow has launched an app that aims to connect fans with their favorite artists by giving those avid listeners a fast and easy means of lending their financial support to bands in the form of digital “tips.”

Created by Chris Bush, a software developer, and Rene De La Mora, a musician and booker, TipCow functions by encouraging artists to sign up with the service and then let their fans know—either on stage at a gig, or through social media or other channels—that fans are able to use the app to support their music.
