Augmented reality app Blippar is collaborating with designer Henry Holland to let shoppers scan and buy clothing as soon as it is first shown

In the past, waiting six months for a runway design to show up in stores was the norm, but you can now take home designer items directly after they’ve been revealed on the runway. Visa Europe is about to make this a lot easier with the launch of an advanced image recognition scanner and app, which might be the future of shopping.

Made in collaboration with augmented reality app Blippar, the scanner uses your smartphone camera to identify a vast array of objects. Once identified, it pulls up information and online links connected to the pieces, and allows you to pay for the item right away with a pre-registered prepaid, debit or credit card.
