Browser-Based Voting System Aims To Digitize The Democratic Process
Clear Ballot's modular solution could improve accuracy, speed and transparency in elections
Clear Ballot is a civic startup with products aimed to simplify the democratic process. Its ClearVote system provides election officials with an intuitive browser-based ballot layout process, a tabulation and reporting system and an accessible solution that encourages equality for all voters.
The technology creates a complete digital database that includes visualization of all votes in an election and a digital inventory. As a whole, the system increases speed, accuracy and transparency while reducing paper waste and costs. ClearBallot also offers precinct voting units an alternative to proprietary systems with their ClearCast system which uses off the shelf components. Clear Ballot is certified for use in elections in Oregon, for central count and absentee systems in New York, auditing in Florida and it is conducting pilots for many other municipalities.
