Edible Art Inspired By A Son’s Drawings
A mother creates beautiful loaves of bread based on illustrations
A Tokyo-based baker who goes Konel Bread is turning her son’s drawings into edible loaves of bread. Natural ingredients such as cocoa, beetroot, and spinach give the baked goods color and brings the drawings to life. The dough is prepared by laying strips of colored dough on top of each other to create an image.
The whimsical loaves are featured on Konel Bread’s Instagram: the account shows many of the pictures drawn by her son beforehand and the images found in the bread. The illustrations so far have included flowers, fruit, dogs, rabbits, butterflies, cats, watches and more.
