Open Bionics partners with game studio Eidos-Montreal to make an affordable prosthetic arm

Open Bionics created a 3D-printed bionic hand inspired by the video game world of Deus Ex. As an open source project, amputees, developers and researchers can download the project files for free to 3D-print a functional version.

In the dystopian future of the Deus Ex universe, augmented limbs and biohacking are natural elements of everyday life. After customers inquired about where to buy the technologies featured in the game, studio Eidos-Montréal contacted Open Bionics for a partnership. “It was a really natural fit when they got in touch with us, we were almost expecting it at some point,” says Joel Gibbard, CEO of Open Bionics.
