The publication is a response to an ever-present remark: 'there's no way that ad ran'

Bogus ads plague advertising award shows. To help solve this, a Canadian magazine called IT RAN will only print ads that for some reason can’t be featured on other publications. For $500, the magazine gives any advertiser the possibility to print a full-page ad, no questions asked.

The magazine is really a fundraising campaign in disguise. All the proceeds will go to Canada’s National Advertising Benevolent Society (NABS), which for 32 years has supported Canadian professionals in the marketing and communications industry facing personal, career and family challenges due to illness, injury, unemployment or financial difficulties. IT RAN is currently accepting submissions for its first issue, and will be printed in the fall and sent to every agency in the country.
