A new mascara promises to create beautiful lashes and a political statement

Beautycounter launched a campaign called #100Lashes, centering around mascara that took over four years to develop. It took such a long time to develop this mascara because of the company's commitment to using only safe ingredients. It points out that the U.S. has failed to pass a major federal law to regulate ingredients used in personal care products since 1938. Therefore, the company takes the initiative to self-monitor the ingredients that goes into its products.

The campaign wants women to know that they have a right to beautiful lashes without any harmful impacts on their health. Besides providing this product, Beautycounter continues to raise awareness and advocate for laws that set higher standards in personal care products. Access to safe cosmetics is a right. In addition, the company has pledged $100,000 to the Girl Effect, a nonprofit dedicated to helping women in developing countries gain access to education and healthcare.
