The inspiration platform is part of an integrated in-store and digital shopping experience

Brazilian ad agency DM9DDB partnered up with Pinterest to make purchase decisions easier by combining in-store and online experiences and bringing a new element into the search process: a real life Pinterest pin.

Created for Tok&Stok, Brazil’s largest furniture chain, bright red “Pin it” buttons were placed on hundreds of products throughout the store. The pins connect via Bluetooth to the PinList app on the customer’s phone, so in addition to being able to look, touch and measure the items, they can now add them to their Pinterest boards just by pressing the button in front of them. The pin has an internal circuit with a battery and a BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) board with low range to ensure the pin doesn’t go to the wrong phone. When the button is pressed, it signals the device to publish the item on the customer’s virtual board.
