Retailer Sells Appliances Through Experience Over Inventory
The experiential shopping brand Pirch has opened a flagship store in New York's SoHo
Pirch is a high-end appliance retailer that opened a flagship experience store in New York’s trendy SoHo neighborhood May 21st. Unlike its competitors, shoppers are encouraged to turn on and test all the appliances in its showroom. Rather than call their staff “associates” or “salespeople,” Pirch refers to its team members as “Lifestyle Experience Advisors.”
In addition to being able to interact with a professional chef who does daily demos on topics like grilling and steaming, people can sign up to take cooking classes or test out Pirch’s shower heads in the Sanctuary. Previous reports have indicated that Pirch’s other experience stores rake in $2,500 in sales per square foot which puts them on par with Apple and Tiffany. Pirch’s chairman, Jim Stuart told PSFK that he views this new flagship as their international launch.
