Space 10 is an innovation hub that is testing hydroponic farms for restaurants

IKEA known for its home furnishings has made major strides to uncover ideas and solutions to become more environmentally sustainable. Space 10, serves as IKEA's external innovation hub whose goal is to inspire and introduce fresh perspectives and solutions for major challenges facing urban living. Space 10 recently introduced The Farm, which is an IKEA-hacked hydroponic garden that would allow for food to be grown right inside IKEA's restaurants.

The Farm uses LED lights from the IKEA Rydda/ Vaxer hydroponic garden with classic IKEA shelves and some plastic bins. Created in the basement of Space 10's Copenhagen studio, 80 percent of The Farm‘s supplies are from IKEA.
