Seoul designers use lack of space as inspiration to launch a portable playing field

In the overpopulated city of Seoul, reserving a spot to play soccer or baseball can take months while parks are hard to come by. As a result, architecture firm Studio B.U.S. has designed a multipurpose playing field. The design team, headed up by Ji Hyun Park, shrunk the typical playing field, ensuring various sports can be played in one, albeit minute, space.

The mobile playground can be used in a number of ways to reveal the different amenities needed for each sport. It can be displayed two ways: folded and unfolded. When folded, there's a wall for practicing tennis, a space for a game of target practice using flying discs and a snack bar.
