In Amsterdam, where over 30 percent of the city’s traffic movement occurs on bicycle, Uber Amsterdam announced a new car service that allows members to order rides that can accommodate bikes as well. Users who choose UberBike will have access to drivers that have bike racks installed on their car—a service particularly helpful when I rider does not want to or cannot ride home, due to injury or bike breakdown.

UberBike rides are priced at the same rate as the UberX service, with an additional 4€ charge. UberBike is aligned with the company’s strategy to meet the different transportation needs and routines of its various cities. Previously, Uber launched a motorbike service in Bangkok and a separate bicycle service in Portland, Oregon.
