The new offering can help keep your emissions low for every Uber ride

Uber’s next move in Paris is a green one. Host city of last year’s global climate talks (COP21) should expect to see more hail-able electric cars and hybrid vehicles driving around Paris as uberGreen takes center stage. The move resulted in a brand new button on the app that allows a rider to specifically order a “green” car.

The feature is first launched in Paris (and only within the walls of the city) but Portugal and South Africa will also have uberGreen. In time, many more cities in France will get the option. The cost of riding an uberGreen will be the same as riding uberX. Aside from cutting emissions, Uber hopes “green” cars will give its riders a more relaxing ride sans the engine noise and the vibration of a regular engine.
