The 'Floating Piers' project creates an extension of a street as a walkway between islands

A famous artist couple Christo and Jeanne-Claude created a large-scale installation located in Northern Italy. After scoping out different bodies of water, they selected Lake Iseo for the location of a 3-kilometer-long walkway called ‘Floating Piers.’ The walkway is comprised of 10,000 square meters of yellow fabric that was sewn on top of a floating dock system. This walkway moves to the ebb and flow of the current. The exhibit is open until July 3rd for anyone to experience and enjoy for free.
