The retail giant is tapping into future technologies for the benefit of the business

Walmart recently announced it’s creating a drone service to ensure the company stays ahead in such an increasingly tech-focused and saturated market with incredibly stiff competition, most poignantly Amazon.

Walmart’s Vice President of Emerging Sciences Shekar Natarajan held a demonstration of the retailer’s new technology to reporters from one of their distribution centers in Bentonville, Arkansas. The drone will be used to replace the jobs of some of its employees, most notably inventory quality assurance employees. This will allow the company to cut the time it takes for inventory checks across their line of distribution centers from one month down to an impressive 24 hours.
