The functional sculpture offers a new take on locomotion

Design studio Carv came up with an interesting functional sculpture: a bike with hind wheels that mimic a spider’s crawl.

The bike takes steps like a cautious arachnid when pedaled. Four legs take the place of the rear wheel, moving in perfect sync with every kick. While there is no apparent advantage to using legs instead of wheels, it does create a wonderful mechanical display.
