'Food Connect' aims to provide nourishment to those in need in Philadelphia

Although images of poverty are strongly tied with developing countries, it should be anything but a foreign concept in the United States. While it is difficult to believe that in a country with bountiful land and food, one in six people in America face hunger every day. Food Connect is an app that alleviates this leftover food waste problem in Philadelphia. It was released in time to coincide with the Democratic National Convention to make use of the anticipated surplus of produce and packaged goods.
