Before Airbnb, Couchsurfing existed for the poor and/or social travelers to find a couch to crash for free. Even now, hosts and travelers continue to connect in different places across the world. The company decided to take the social aspect one step further by launching a new feature called Hangouts, which you can use to make friends.
