With backing from alumni of AngelList and Uber, the open-investment platform ‘Republic’ gives anyone the opportunity to invest in a startup.

The small $10 investment minimum allows entrepreneurs to crowdfund from non-accredited investors with less experience and limited monetary capabilities. Unlike crowdfunding sites like Kickstarter, contributors receive equity in correlation with the investment. Except raising money, startups can also solicit advice from experienced entrepreneurs such as Naval Ravikant, co-founder and CEO of AngelList. U.S. Investment Crowdfunding in startups had a volume at approximately $1.2 Billion in 2015.
