Designer Keita Suzuki from the Tokyo-based firm Product Design Center has developed a new train strap for Sagami Railway in Japan along with project assistant Sayaka Hiromura. Designed around the simple theme of ‘safe and beautiful,’ it is shaped like an elliptical ring to provide improved functionality. The designers believe that the modern strap is a beautiful tool that can offer safety and comfort for train passengers even when they’re traveling in a crowded carriage from the city center.
