Artist Emma Mattson mimics nature in her miniature and detailed pieces

Artist Emma Mattson loves textured landscapes, which is why she decided to create her own miniature landscapes. One of her projects is creating complex embroideries featuring moss-like designs. While moss may not seem to be the most appealing choice out of all the different components of nature, Mattson’s works are highly detailed, utilizing different types of felt to create a blend that comes together in a beautiful manner.

These creations are embroidered onto green hoops, making it look like real pockets of moss from afar. A closer look reveals the intricate variety of stitches. Although it may not provide the same calming effects of nature, the creation process is a therapeutic process for the artist herself.
