Museum Challenges People To Escape A Digital-Age House Of Mirrors
The illusion space is a showcase for contemporary glass technology
G+MAZE is a new attraction at Shanghai’s G+Park, a museum and cultural complex celebrating the region’s glass industry. The project was designed by Shanghai-based firm Coordination Asia as a modern take on the ancient maze.
Visitors can freely wander the space or participate in a stamp game that requires finding embossing presses scattered in the space with symbols matching those on a printed sheet. Participants finding all eight receive a certificate from the staff.
The interior is made up of 318 glass panels of transparent, mirror and patterned black mirror finishes. LED lights in eight different geometric shapes are clustered to create disorienting patterns.
