Spin workout brand Peloton has launched a digital experience that lets you inexpensively take tailored workout plans with you wherever you are

When Peloton first kicked off its crowdfunding initiative on Kickstarter roughly two years ago, the on-demand, live-streaming spin bike bred some skeptics. The socially connected workout experience was unlike anything anyone had ever seen before: a Wi-Fi enabled indoor bicycle with real-time classes, virtual trails and constantly updating scoreboards to motivate any couch potato to get active. It wasn’t until the first batch of shipments were delivered that even the harshest of critics had a change of heart. Of all things to go digital, the fitness industry wasn’t particularly prime to do so, and with an ecosystem of inaccurate and wishy-washy apps, few believed Peloton could break the mold.
