Rent The Runway Is Using Snapchat For Customer Service
The high-end clothing renter is leveraging the social network as a way to advertise how an outfit fits a certain body type
Rather than play a guessing game of how rented clothes will fit its customers, fashion retailer Rent The Runway is leveraging its 250 employees as fit models. As a marketing plot, the brand will communicate photos and videos to its customers via Snapchat.
Prospective customers can message Rent The Runway the item name of the piece their interested in and their body measurements to a customer service rep on the social network. The company’s team will find women from their headquarters who have similar dimensions to try on the clothes and send snaps and comments to the customer. They’ll also offer tips such as the type of bra needed and how a skirt looks when it moves.
