Japanese company Star-ALE wants to create an artificial meteor shower called the Sky Canvas light show for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. The company will start launching a series of micro-satellites into space as soon as next year in preparation for the big show. Micro-satellites will carry up to 1,000 pieces of source particles pellets which will ignite when they re-enter the Earth’s atmosphere like a dazzling meteor.
