Lip Balm Wrapped In Compostable Packaging
The product's sustainable design differs from traditional chapstick dispensers
Vancouver-based skin care company Fable Naturals has unveiled a line of compostable lip balm products made with 100 percent recycled paper. While some skin care products that are advertised as environmentally friendly are sold in packaging that is impossible to recycle, the brand’s lip balms are wrapped in a cardboard paper tube that users can squeeze in order to use the balm.
The empty tube will then degrade in a few weeks after it’s placed in a compost bin, according to the company. The lip balms are made with ingredients like cocoa butter and olive oil, and sell for about $6 each.
