A German photography team developed the flying device to accurately deliver a payload wherever needed

The German aerial photography team Cooper Copter has built an interesting new toy: a drone that can drop bags of paint on command.

Handy for interesting paint jobs, it takes its name “Pollockcopter” from the artists whose work it will most likely emulate. Now you can throw paint on walls or on people without even having to go near the target.

While this would be an interesting way to do things if you’re repainting your home or want to prank a friend, this drone hack can easily be used for a sort of futurist vandalism. While it carries just one load per trip, a band of paint-wielding drones would be a cool way to spruce up a crowd. The Pollockopter will be making its debut at the Reeperbahn Festival, a music festival in Hamburg, where it will be hurling bombs at a giant screen.
