Men Are Taking Selfies To Raise Awareness For Suicide Prevention
A support group is giving people a place to talk about their emotions, seek help and save lives under the banner #ItsOkayToTalk
When it comes to talking about feelings and emotions, men do not like sharing much. However, when a life hangs in the balance, seeking help can mean a life saved. This is why Luke Ambler started a group called Andy’s Man Club, a place where every man can speak freely about their emotions in an effort to bolster suicide prevention.
The inspiration for the Facebook group came from Ambler’s brother whom he lost to suicide. His brother neither talked about his feelings nor sought professional or personal help. Ambler wants this stigma around communication to stop and to make men feel that it is OK to talk, confide and ask for help.
