California-based watch and accessories brand Nixon is branching out into smartwatches with the release of The Mission. Built for an active lifestyle on the beach, the mountain and beyond, the watch features a 10 ATM (100 meters) water resistance rating. It has a rugged design that can withstand the elements with a custom-molded, shockproof and stainless steel case. Nixon's smartwatch suite includes 44,000 different configurations.

The smartwatch introduces two custom Nixon apps. The Mission app provides live info about ocean and mountain conditions, and alerts the wearer of perfect conditions at their favorite surf and snow locations. The Mission Trace app is a custom activity tracker to monitor sessions, and easily view and share stats. The Mission offers consumers over 44,000 custom combinations to choose from, with various bezels, cases, faces and bands. The smartwatch will be available from October 10th, with prices starting at $400.
