Outdoor Camp Presented In 360° VR By X Games Gold Medalist
The video features campers riding BMX trails, zip lining through the woods, and performing big-air jumps
Outside TV, the 24/7 network dedicated to adventure lifestyle content, recently partnered with Jaunt, a producer and publisher of VR experiences, to create a new virtual reality project. Camp Life: Woodward showcases all the thrills offered at Camp Woodward, the action-sports summer camp for aspiring youth and professional athletes. It features BMX sensation Jamie Bestwick, the 14-time X Games gold medalist, as he presents the best that the camp has to offer and shows viewers what makes it so special to him.
The one-of-a-kind virtual reality experience gives Outside enthusiasts and action sports athletes the opportunity to see Camp Woodward in a unique way. Shot over a few days at Camp Woodward’s Pennsylvania location, Outside TV and Jaunt’s production crews recorded 360-degree video and audio of campers and professionals riding dirt BMX trails, zip lining through the woods, cruising indoor half pipes, performing outdoor big-air jumps and more. They also captured the campers’ enthusiasm and emotion for the variety of park features offered at Camp Woodward.
David Anderman, Chief Business Officer at Jaunt, said:
“Virtual reality offers the ability to capture enthusiasm, excitement and action like no other medium before it. Working with Outside TV and Woodward on this project was a natural fit since extreme and action sports translate so well in VR. By taking fans, thrill seekers and even skeptics directly into this action-packed world, viewers are able to see, hear and experience new heights.”
The Camp Life: Woodward experience is now available to view in the Jaunt VR app as well as Outside TV’s Facebook page.
