Pret A Manger’s Temporary Vegetarian Restaurant Is Becoming Permanent
The widespread popularity of Veggie Pret has led decision-makers to keep the pop-up location open for good
Fans of Pret a Manger’s London-based vegetarian temporary restaurant Veggie Pret were given reason to rejoice Tuesday, as Pret CEO Clive Schlee announced that the pop-up summer shop will be kept open permanently.
Launched on June 1 in London’s fashionable Soho district, the pop-up was only meant to remain open for one month, but its overwhelming popularity led to an extended stay through the end of summer. While Pret expected sales to begin plateauing as the novelty wore off, consumers continued coming back for the restaurant’s super bowls, smoothies and plant pots—and according to Schlee, over 50% of customers say they are regular meat eaters.
