The giant ticking clock was created by 14 Scania vehicles in a deserted airfield

Automotive manufacturer Scania created a massive clock using its new generation of trucks that ran for 24 hours, in order to show that the company is able to offer a tailored solution for businesses. Set up in a deserted airfield, the challenge involved 14 trucks keeping track of every second.

The trucks that made up the second hand had to drive on a round track in a perfect circle every 60 seconds for 24 hours, with the inside truck maintaining a constant speed of 13 km/h and the outside truck keeping to 53 km/h. For the trucks making up the minute and hour hands, the challenge was to ensure a synchronized sequence of starts and stops.
