The prototype device has been rebranded and is coming to customers soon

PSFK has previously reported about a concept wearable called TipTalk that conducts sound via the user’s finger to the ear. The same company has now rebranded itself as Sgnl and it’s geared for mass production.

Readying for the market required a major redesign. Once a smartwatch, Sngl is now a just a strap. By not having a built-in watch face, it lets users add one more feature to existing watches than having to replace them.

The technology works through vibrations that are first applied to bones inside the wrist then transmitted to the finger. When the finger touches the ear, vibrations are continue to travel to the eardrum.
