Athleisure Manufacturer Crowdsources All Of Its Business Decisions
Customers voted on manufacturing decisions, advertising campaigns, and type of garments produced
Taking the crowdsourced business model to the extreme, emerging athleisure brand Orin conducted an online survey asking participants to vote on the company’s manufacturing and advertising decisions. Additionally, survey participants were shown in real-time how their choices would affect the cost of each article of clothing.
The survey questions included preferred style and colors of tops and bottoms, country where manufacturing would take place, workers’ compensation and factory certification level. They found that their customers found tank tops (in black and grey) were the most appealing over other colors or long sleeves.
