Bangkok Turns Unusual Spaces Into Football Fields
Wasted space is transformed into a communal arena for a community in Thailand
Bangkok, Thailand lacks usable space for building recreational areas. Despite the space unavailability, AP Thailand pushed the boundaries to start the “Unusual Football Field” concept that let to four non-rectangular football fields across the Khlong Toei district.
AP Thailand partnered with CJ WORX to build these football fields. As Thailand’s favorite sport, it was imperative that communities be able to enjoy playing in a soccer field, whether it was a perfect rectangular shape or not.
One of the missions of the project is to help promote relationships in communities as well as prove that any space can change a person’s life. While the football fields are unorthodox, the pleasure it provides to local community members prove its worth.
