Traditionally perceived as a gateway to self quantification, wearable technology has become the collective shift in communication. Rather than being used as a means for self understanding, the revolution of the ‘quantified self’ has taken hold, ushered forth by the proliferation of fitness trackers measuring biodata such as steps counted or calorie intake. In this, adopters of the technology have become consumed with monitoring everyday activities and performance, relying on technology as the vessel of personal data.
