Mini Metro lets you design your own fully functional transit network, simulating the flow of urban commuters with pared-down visuals

Mini Metro is a beautifully designed mobile game that will let you create your own subway system in 13 different cities. Start the game by connecting just a few train stations with colorful lines. New ones will pop up as the game progresses, adding complexity as your passengers and stations increase. It's strangely calming to watch the trains ferry virtual passengers, though the gameplay can also get hectic when stations become overcrowded.

The game launched on desktop before mobile, but the touch-and-drag interface of a smartphone is a perfect way to arrange train lines. You can build metro systems in cities like Cairo, Paris or New York—each map has distinctive characteristics that sets it apart: for instance, Osaka has high-speed bullet trains for the city's many passengers.
