LUMEN is a relaxing experience accessed through the LIFE VR app that lets users explore a magical bioluminescent forest. Created in collaboration with Walter Greenleaf, PhD, of Stanford University’s Virtual Human Interaction Lab, and Framestore VR Studio, LUMEN is a self-guided meditation that starts with a short breathing exercise. Then the user interacts with the calming lights and sounds of a multicolored VR forest in order to de-stress.

Users can stimulate tree growth, choose a hue from the sky’s aurora display to customize their tranquil setting, and navigate the forest floor. The soothing soundtrack, created by composer Peter Timberlake, evolves with every interaction. LUMEN is available for Windows on Steam for the HTC Vive, and through the LIFE VR mobile app for iOS and Android.
