Honda Has 3D Printed A Fully Electric Minivan
The car manufacturer partnered with product developer Kabuku to create the small versatile vehicles
Car maker Honda, along with product developer Kabuku, has built a system that allows businesses and individuals to design, print and build custom products more efficiently, overtaking traditional alternatives. The flagship project involved building a branded delivery vehicle, a fully electric minivan, for a confectionary specialist Toshimoya.
Toshimoya, uses regular vehicles to deliver its goods, but the narrow roads on the seaside city of Kamakura proved a difficult obstacle. The company considered building a custom vehicle, but decided against it due to expense and timing. That's where Honda and Kabuku introduced its Rinkak Mass Customization Solution, a cloud-based service for instant customization.
