The inaccurate scales we see at the gym might finally retire from our lives. mPort is a 3D body measuring machine that will soon be available at LA Fitness. The scanner lets anyone get a 3D image of their body as well as relevant data on their health. This includes BMI, body fat and so much more.

The problem with regular scales is that all people see is one number that does not necessarily reflect how healthy an individual is. Progress is also inaccurately measured. mPort seeks to change this unhealthy reliance on a scale and instead provides a deep, detailed body analysis.

“As much as we like to think we are the same, we are not. A human body comes in every shape and size, and one size does not fit all when it comes to health and fitness. In a world fixated on weight and waist size, mPort’s mission is to help users understand their own body shape and live a confident healthier life” said Dipra Ray, co-founder and CEO of mPort.

mPort utilizes infra-red technology that is non-invasive and safe, as exemplified by its use in the retail space as well. 200,000 data points are captured each time anyone uses the technology. Users can also utilize the accompanying app to measure their progress through time. Finally, this kind of accurate health technology will reach the masses and improve lives.
