Launching in October, "Besoin D'un Toi" helps the less fortunate to find a warm bed to sleep in for the night

Taking the functionality of Airbnb's digital home-sharing network to philanthropy, the French app “Besoin D'un Toi” (“Need You”), by Collectif Merci pour l'invit connects homeless people to those who are able to help. The app was developed by Bordeaux-based music instructor Pascal Pistone, along with Julian Lopez, co-owner of the Bordeaux bar “Quartier Libre” and Sandrine Décembre, a multimedia lecturer at the University of Belfort.

While the primary goal of “Besoin D'un Toi” is to help find beds for people living on the streets, the app wants to create a safe, reliable space for the homeless to reach out to for any sort of help. Because not every person will have access to a cell phone, the app is working on a digital site and using local organizations to promote its use among the homeless community.
